This first picture was taken on one of many buying trips to the Far East. This man was photographed alongside a narrow road in India leading from Bhadohi to Allahabad. He had with him a modest flock of sheep. Unfortunately, the sheep were grazing on the opposite side of the road. The work of this shepherd is but the first of many steps necessary in the art of rug production.
